MAPS Preschool program is for children 3-5 years old. The Preschool program offers 3 year old and 4 year old classes at various sites, including some of our Elementary locations. 3 year old class options include 2-day(a.m.) or 3-day(p.m.) a week for 3 hours each class. 4 year old classes meet 4-days a week M-TH for 3 hours in either an a.m. or p.m. class option. Scholarships are available on a first come first serve basis to those who qualify.. We encourage parents to register early as classes may fill quickly.
MAPS Preschool 2018-19 Registration:
Information will be mailed to families with age eligible children residing in the Mankato Area Public Schools boundaries. Preschool registration begins Monday, January 8th. Registration for MAPS Preschool can be made online at www.mankato.thatscommunityed.com or in person at 820 Hubbell Avenue.
Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) 2018-19 Registration:
Voluntary pre-kindergarten was established by Governor Dayton and the 2016 Minnesota Legislature for the purpose of preparing children for success as they enter kindergarten the following year. Mankato Area Public Schools was granted funding for the Kennedy Elementary Preschool site. To be eligible for this free preschool program you must reside within Kennedy or Washington Elementary boundaries, child must be 4 on or before September 1st and cannot be Kindergarten eligible. Transportation is available on a limited basis. See registration form for more details. Registration is taken on a first come, first serve basis and is processed through the Mankato Area Public Schools- Early Learning Department.
